A day at Montessori Universe was dedicated to self-discovery and exploring emotions.
The process began with self-observation in the mirror. The children studied not only their appearance but also those unique features that make each of them special. This was followed by playful attempts to express a wide variety of feelings through different facial expressions. After all, so much can be shown to the outside world through facial features!
The second part of the activity was dedicated to working with emotion cards: the students role-played various emotions, observed their faces in the mirror once again, and learned to identify the characteristics specific to each emotion. As a result, they practically saw how facial expressions change during joy, surprise, sadness, or anger.
Through this practice, children not only learn to know themselves and become aware of their emotions, but they also develop the ability to recognize the feelings of others, which forms the foundation for building healthy relationships in the future.
